It’s been a long, but exciting year! Studio School is constantly surprising us. We’re growing as film makers, helping others to become better film makers, and creating an awesome community of film makers that are eager to learn, and share their knowledge with others!
There’s a lot in the planning for the future of Studio School. This show started off with the simple idea that there needed to be a web show that taught film making starting at the basics, but that also was grounded in story and character. Story and Character are the two most important items in storytelling. Great characters are why we go to a movie. To be lost in an adventure, seeing funny, flawed, sometimes helpless characters and empathizing with them, cheering for them, enjoying their journey with them. This is why we started Studio School, to show film makers that a return to story and character as their foundation will make the story and the story teller better.
The future holds a lot for Studio School, and we’re excited about it! Our home page here on Dual Edge Studios has finally launched. The pages aren’t perfect but we have a show home. Check this blog out weekly as we will be posting lots of film making tips, answering questions, as well as providing show updates! The show will also be making it’s way into iTunes soon.
One of the most exciting things to come for Studio School is the launching of the Studio School Film Makers Forum. This will be a place where YOU the film maker can have a home to post questions, thoughts, your work, production needs, basically anything, and be able to then interact with other film makers like yourself. The Studio School Film Makers Forum will be a place built by Film Makers for Film Makers.
We are going to continue the monthly LIVE shows and they are only going to get better and better. The last Thursday of EVERY month we broadcast LIVE on our YouTube channel to take your questions and answer them LIVE on the spot all unscripted and unrehearsed. We are working hard on bringing HD streaming to the table, as well as the ability to give away some awesome prizes to those watching.
These are just a few of the plans we have for the future. There is a lot more coming that we can’t discuss right now unfortunately, but everything will be announced in time.
